Biblioteka Coffee is a chain of atmospheric cafés that bring together a love for books, coffee, and vinyl. The new project continues the brand’s philosophy while rethinking its visual language and user experience.

The client came with an already formed vision of the space and a set of references but remained open to a fresh perspective and fully trusted our team. This trust made it possible to create not just an interior, but a holistic environment where every element serves a unified idea.

At the core of the project lies a duet of opposites: silence and sound. These two states became metaphors that set the tone for the interior. Silence — calm, serenity, softness. Sound — rhythm, abundance of instruments, boldness. The combination of contrasts within one space.

The interior is designed in a contemporary style aimed at a young audience. Modernity is expressed not only in the choice of materials but also in unconventional ways of using them, with special attention to lighting and the acoustic atmosphere.

Furniture was partly custom-designed by our studio and partly sourced from independent design brands. The softness of natural wood veneer is offset by bold metallic elements — planters, wall sconces, and even a floor grate unexpectedly echoed above the coffee machine as a decorative feature.

A sliding door to the restroom is seamlessly hidden within the bookshelf filled with books and vinyl. The curved bar and lightboxes connect the light and dark zones into a single whole — just like coffee unites books and vinyl in one café.

One of the project’s metaphors became the “trace of a vinyl needle” — it seems to run through the entire space, weaving it into a continuous narrative. This subtle visual gesture reinforces the overall concept of a sound-inspired environment.

Functionality is carefully thought out. The focus is on comfort for both guests and staff. At the entrance stands a curved bar counter — an unusual solution for Biblioteka Coffee cafés, instantly marking the focal point of the space.

By the panoramic windows, seating areas invite guests to observe the city outside. Passersby, catching a glimpse of the warm light glowing from the storefront, will feel drawn to step inside and enjoy the soft atmosphere.
