The Blu Pizzeria project was developed by us for a long-term client with whom the studio has collaborated on several projects.

The client’s vision consistently draws inspiration from natural elements, and in this case, we created Blu Mare.

The concept rooted in the dialogue between water and sand, exploring the interplay of wet and dry and the balance that emerges between them.

The key idea behind the design was the striking turquoise color of the Abu Dhabi sea. We incorporated this shade through the use of glass blocks, carefully combining them with the sandy tones characteristic of the local environment.

Together, these elements establish an atmosphere that feels both natural and architectural. The space itself is monumental in form, with bold, large-scale shapes that give the dining area a strong architectural presence

The palette of materials includes glass blocks, plaster, wheat, MDF, and leather, each selected to reinforce the tactile and visual richness of the environment.

One of the distinctive features of the project is the innovative use of curved glass block walls, which break away from the conventional straight-line application and create a dynamic sense of flow.

Different types of plaster were also applied across the front, back, and side walls, all unified by a single RAL tone to produce the effect of a continuous half-circle.

A notable functional element is the central oven zone, designed as an open kitchen so guests can observe the preparation of pizzas — a signature feature of Blu branches worldwide.

The circular cut-out in the middle, enriched with architectural detailing, highlights both the technological and design precision that define the space.
