Funky Ramen is a unique restaurant in Düsseldorf, created by a chef with experience in Michelin-starred restaurants and inspired by the anime Samurai Champloo. The interior is divided into three zones, each reflecting the personality of one of the main characters: calm Jin, energetic Mugen, and determined Fuu. The space blends street culture, Japanese traditions, and intentional “imperfection” with exposed brick, concrete blocks, and projections of scenes from the anime on linen screens. The layout encourages openness, with the ramen kitchen visible from the main dining area and a custom acrylic window offering a view of the sushi station. Symbolic elements, like red lines in the blue zone and blue ropes in the red zone, highlight the theme of uniting opposites.
