KIDZ Studio designed Gaijin, a modern neo-izakaya that blends Japanese culinary traditions with a refined spatial concept. Inspired by shokunin (master craftsmanship) and kodawari (attention to detail), the interior features raw natural materials, handcrafted textures, and a minimalist post-and-beam structure. Special attention was given to lighting—each spotlight was designed to be both functional and subtle, ensuring a balanced ambiance and a sense of privacy between tables. Custom furniture and a unique two-level structure were developed specifically for the project, enhancing its harmony and authenticity. To complete the space, repurposed metal columns with integrated lighting and carefully curated flea-market finds added depth and character.
