For Room 20, we explored four early branding directions that all shared the same foundation: the tension between intrigue and belonging.
Each concept played with secrecy, coded messages, and the feeling of entering a space that doesn’t fully reveal itself at once.
This balance of comfort, mystery, and a personal touch became the core of our approach.
After testing several directions, we chose a final identity that expresses this mood most clearly. A neat sheet of paper lies on the table, typewritten, with a short handwritten signature at the bottom. No address, no name. A message left only to you. The logo reflects the same balance: the random rhythm of printed text and the warm intonation of a personal trace.
Room 20 becomes the beginning of a story — one the visitor continues themselves.

During development, our designers created many handwritten variations, carefully selecting the version that felt most authentic to Room 20. It preserves the essential balance: a sense of comfort paired with intrigue, and a quiet layer of secrecy.
The color palette strengthens the overall atmosphere of Room 20. Vintage Wine introduces depth and warmth — a tone that feels intimate, grounded, and slightly enigmatic, while Warm Gray brings softness and calm, acting as a quiet neutral that lets the darker shade resonate even stronger.

We also explored other directions during the research phase. Each concept approached the idea of mystery in its own way. One direction focused on coded symbols and hidden meanings; another leaned toward a more classical, hotel-inspired world with hints of luxury and detective aesthetics.
The third concept deepened the sense of enigma through fragmented letterforms seen “through a keyhole.” And the fourth introduced a cinematic detective motif — a handwritten note left behind, pointing you to a room number with no explanation.
